Information collected
The enquiry form collects your name, email address, message, optional organisation and optional referral source. Please do not submit source code, passwords, credentials or sensitive personal data.
The hosting system temporarily uses your IP address to create a one-way keyed identifier for abuse prevention. The IP address itself is not stored with your enquiry.
Why it is used
Your enquiry is used to reply, understand the work you may require and take steps at your request before a possible contract. Abuse-prevention information is used for the legitimate interest of protecting the website and enquiry service.
The optional referral source is used to understand which forms of business promotion are useful. It is not used to make automated decisions about you.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses no analytics, tracking, advertising cookies or similar marketing technologies.
Storage, service providers and sharing
Form submissions are stored in a private, non-public area of the Hostinger website hosting account. A notification containing only a random reference is sent to the Software Lifeline mailbox. Zoho provides the business email service and will process personal information when an enquiry is answered by email.
Information is not sold and is not shared for another organisation’s marketing. It may be disclosed where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Service providers may use infrastructure outside the UK; where this happens, the applicable contractual or legal safeguards are relied upon.
Retention
The original form submission is deleted no later than 90 days after receipt. One-way abuse-prevention identifiers are deleted no later than 48 hours after their last update. Related business correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to manage an enquiry, an ongoing client relationship, professional obligations or legal claims.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict or object to its use, or receive a portable copy. To exercise a right, email hello@softwarelifeline.co.uk.
You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

This notice was last updated on 22 August 2026. It will be reviewed when the website’s forms, service providers or data-handling practices change.
